FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

It’s THE COLLISION OF COMEDY TOUR, presented by Aspiring Mark Agency and Marlar 24/Seven! If your station likes big on-air promotional events that build excitement and cume but come at very little (or zero) expense to your station, then the Collision of Comedy is for you; and it’s customizable for your radio station!

How does it work? We partner with a local church or organization in your radio station’s coverage area. This client will be responsible for ticket sales, facility costs, paying the talent, etc. This event will be an outreach or fundraiser for this client, so it’s their responsibility to cover the costs. Any profits from the night will also go to this client. Your radio station does not pay these expenses!

In order to obtain the much-needed promotional support for the client’s event, they agree to allow your radio station to treat the event as if it is yours.

All posters and fliers for your area would have your station logo

On the air it becomes “WXYZ’S COLLISION OF COMEDY 2010”

Your station gets stage presence at the beginning of the show to make station announcements, thank sponsors, etc.

Your station sells the event to sponsors (with all sponsor money going to the station)

Mention station sponsors in all on-air promotional ads

Place station sponsors on posters and fliers

Create programs to hand out at the show that include coupons for station sponsor products/services

Create a Power Point presentation with station sponsor ads/logos to be shown at venue before show begins

… any other ideas? Use them!

Everyone wins. Your radio station wins with a huge profitable promotion. The client/venue wins through your on-air promotional machine providing exposure. The comedians benefit with a larger audience and stronger ticket sales. And your audience wins by having a safe, family-friendly standup comedy show (which they will thank your station for).

###

P.S. = We will begin booking this tour in November, 2009 for a Spring tour (March-June)… and it very well may become an annual tour with different comedians each year! Don’t let the station across town grab this before you do! As an added bonus, interested stations that are promoting the COLLISION OF COMEDY can also receive Marlar 24/Seven free for a full month! (Contact Bryon Poirier for details – bryon@marlar24seven.com.)

The Darren Marlar Radio Show is about to go on the air on its first affiliate, WWIL-FM. At 9pm this Monday, August 3rd, listeners in Wilmington, North Carolina will be the first to hear the new syndicated radio show hosted by radio veteran and comedian, Darren Marlar.

According to Jim Stephens of WWIL, “We’re very excited to have someone of the caliber of Darren Marlar on the air here in Wilmington on Life 90.5. I know he’ll quickly have a large following with his fun, humorous show coupled with our great Christian music. I never thought we’d have the opportunity to have a major market talent like Darren on Life 90.5. We’re very excited to have him on the team and already it’s been great working with Darren and Bryon.”

Bryon Poirier is Sales Manager of MARLAR 24/SEVEN ( http://www.Marlar24Seven.com ) – through which the syndicated “Darren Marlar Radio Show” is made available. The host is, of course, Darren Marlar. Marlar is not only a radio veteran of close to two decades, but he’s also a popular standup comedian and monthly columnist – and he brings a lot of himself to his show each weekday.

Marlar commented, “I can’t tell you how excited I am about the new show. I know Wilmington is just the first of many affiliates to come – and so far working with WWIL has been amazing. It’s a real motivator when creating something like this and having the affiliate more excited about the first day on the air than you are yourself.”

To find out more about MARLAR 24/SEVEN, you can visit http://www.Marlar24Seven.com, or call Bryon Poirier at 815/988-3210.

Radio personality, Darren Marlar is launching a new radio product called MARLAR 24/SEVEN (www.Marlar24Seven.com).

There are a variety of ways you might know the name of Darren Marlar. First and foremost, he’s been a drive-time radio personality for the past twenty years.

If you don’t know him from his on-air work, you might know him from his station imaging through Marlar House Productions – or perhaps you’re one of the over 1,000 radio personalities who have used his show prep in the past ten years.

Or maybe you know Darren Marlar as a clean standup comedian, as he performs in front of thousands of people every year. Or perhaps you’ve read his monthly humor column at TheChristianPulse.com. And we won’t even mention the possibility of an upcoming TV show.

His latest (and arguably biggest) venture is the creation of MARLAR 24/SEVEN (a.k.a., “The Darren Marlar Radio Show”).

According to Marlar, the product is a blending of both syndication and voice tracking – allowing a station to have a major market quality syndicated show, but have it be virtually local and yet remain affordable.

MARLAR 24/SEVEN comes with 35 fully produced cuts each weekday, several pages of dry voice work each month, a daily show promo, a monthly humor column by Darren for the affiliate station’s website, newsletter, etc., five “Power Charge” promos per month, a daily podcast for stations to make available to their listeners, and quite a bit more.

“This is something I’ve been thinking about for close to five years now,” says Marlar. “I’ve run it through my mind a million times but the timing never felt right until now.”

What made the timing right? For one thing, it was the possibility of unemployment. Marlar explains, “The announcement was made back in May that K-Love – that is, EMF Broadcasting, was purchasing the station (WQFL-FM). Everybody seems to think they know exactly what to expect when K-Love buys a station… you’re immediately out of a job, right? Turns out that’s not entirely true as they have decided to keep 101QFL live and local – but nobody, not even EMF, knew that would be the case at the time of the purchase.

“I didn’t really feel led to relocate, and the tiny amount of leads I had for radio jobs fell through very quickly anyway. So I resurrected the idea of having a syndicated radio show, and after a lot of thought and prayer it became abundantly clear that was the direction we needed to go. Doors began opening for us right from the start. Even before we had the website done (www.Marlar24Seven.com) we already had our first affiliate: WWIL in Wilmington, North Carolina, which begins airing the show on Monday, August 3rd… and we’ve got a lot of stations asking about it already. It’s very exciting – I just wish I could get some sleep.”

To find out more about MARLAR 24/SEVEN, you can visit the website at http://www.Marlar24Seven.com, or call Bryon Poirier at 815/988-3210.
